OneDrive Menu and RCE

You can share Microsoft OneDrive files directly with students in Canvas either from the menu or from within the Rich Content editor within pages, discussion boards, announcements, and assignments. The menu will allow you to share a set of files, whereas links can be used to link to a specific document.

Note that you should carefully review OneDrive file-sharing permissions before sharing files with students. Keep in mind that OneDrive will send notifications for students accessing private files.

Adding OneDrive Menu to Canvas

In Settings>Navigation tab, select Microsoft One Drive and click to allow to Enable on Canvas. Click Save.
Locate and click on the Microsoft OneDrive menu.

Linking to One Drive Documents from the Rich Text Editor

Within any Canvas page that includes the Rich Text editor, you can select the Apps (plug) icon to choose the Microsoft OneDrive application.
Once selected, (if you are not already logged in) a dialog will open connecting to your Microsoft login where you can sign in with your Net ID.
You can choose to Link or Embed a document within the page by navigating to and selecting a document.
When you are done editing a Canvas page, be sure to Save the document.
