Section 8.2 Focus
In this section, you will explore what your financial future might look like after you graduate from college, are working in a career of your choice, and are paying all of your own expenses by completing a final, zero-based budget.
Background
According to psychologist Jeffrey Jensen Arnett, many young people in the 21st-century report that independent decision-making, taking responsibility for one's actions, and financial independence from parents/guardians are the key indicators of fully reaching adult status. Other factors like finishing education and moving into a career are also important signs.
We want you to take everything you have learned in this course and develop a projected spending plan for your future self when you have graduated from college, are working in your chosen profession, and paying all of your own expenses.
What will your future financial life look like?
