Please Note: You just need to choose one of the assessments (survey or essay) in this module.
As you embark on your college journey and begin to take greater control over your own financial decisions, it's essential to pause and reflect on your current financial practices. This assessment requires you to write an essay to reflect your personal money management strategies and assess your financial habits.
First, please tell us why you enrolled in this course and what personal finance/money management topics you hope to learn more about this semester. Then take a moment to introspect and analyze your financial habits and choose one of the following four topics. At last, please share ideas about how the instructor can help you stay motivated and get the most out of the course.
You will receive 5 points for writing an essay of approximately 300 words.
1. Take a moment to introspect and analyze your financial habits. How do you currently manage your money? Do you follow a budget or spending plan? What are your priorities when it comes to saving, investing, or spending? Reflect on the factors that have influenced your financial behaviors, such as upbringing, personal experiences, or cultural influences.
2. Are you actively working towards specific milestones, such as building an emergency fund, paying off student loans, or saving for a major purchase? Reflect on the strategies you employ to ensure you are making progress towards these goals, and whether any adjustments might be necessary.
3. If applicable, discuss your relationship with debt. Have you taken on any student loans or other forms of debt? How do you plan to manage and eventually pay off these obligations? What factors do you consider when deciding to take on debt, and how do you weigh the potential benefits against the risks?
4. Reflect on your level of financial literacy and the resources you have utilized to enhance your understanding of personal finance. Have you taken any steps to educate yourself about topics such as investing, taxes, credit scores, or retirement planning? How do you plan to continue improving your financial knowledge throughout your college journey and beyond?
