Instructions
We'll break into three groups and discuss the Fourth Amendment protections against illegal searches and seizures by the government. We have discussed how the Courts may give different levels of protections to citizens based upon where they may physically be and what they may be doing in public. In your group, talk about experiences you or others have had with law enforcement in these three areas and then report to the class as we discuss how the Fourth Amendment applied.
1. In your home/apartment/dorm or other living space
2. In your motor vehicle where you were driving or were a passenger
3. In a public area such as walking on a street, gathering at an event, or in a public area.
