Technology Requirements

For an optimized learning experience in this course, please ensure you have access to the following technology:

  • Student-provided personal computer.
  • Reliable internet access. A wired ethernet connection to the internet is very strongly suggested. Wireless and cellphone data connections may experience connection problems. Android and iOS operating systems are not fully supported at this time.
  • While tablets, smartphones, and other mobile devices may allow for some completion of coursework, they are only guaranteed to work in some areas. It is recommended that you have access to a Windows or Mac-based computer to complete coursework in the event your selected mobile device does not meet the needs of the course.

Students who need assistive technologies might have different computer and technology requirements. Please check with Student Accessibility Services Links to an external site. to determine the requirements for the specific technologies needed to support you in your online classes.

  • The lower King Pavilion studios are available for your use when there are no arranged classes in session in the lower King Pavilion.  The course is comprised of several sections that meet in a morning or afternoon session on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday:
    • Monday/Wednesday studios meet from:
      • First Session Studios 8:50am-11:40am
      • Second Session Studios 12:05-2:55pm
    • Tuesday/Thursday studios meet from:
      • First Session Studios 8:00am-10:50am
      • Second Session Studios 11:00am-1:50pm
      • Third Session Studio 2:10-5:00pm
    • Additional Workspace Outside of Studio Time:
      • Your place of residence and campus location outside of the college may be just right for you, but you are encouraged to find productive work spaces in the College of Design and King Pavilion to support you during your time in the Core.
      • Lower King Pavilion: After 3:00pm on Mon/Wed and after 5:00pm on Tue/Thurs, DsnS102 students are welcome and encouraged to come into the lower King Pavilion and use the designated DsnS102 studio spaces to work on projects.  Please be respectful of classes that are in session.  It is encouraged to wait to use the lower KP until after DsnS102 studios have been dismissed.  From time to time there will be project reviews from programs and courses outside of DsnS102 held in the Beckman Forum (the center space).  Fridays and over the weekends there are no scheduled studios in the lower KP.  Therefore, students are welcome and encouraged to use the designated DsnS102 studio spaces in the lower King Pavilion as additional workspace.
      • College of Design: The college provides plenty of additional work space in the atrium and other areas of the college.  Ask your instructor and peer mentors for suggestions.  Explore and find your favorite working space
