Effective Communication
- All communication within the course should adhere to university standards of Effective Communication Practices. Links to an external site. Specifically, communication should be scholarly, respectful, professional, and polite.

Group Work
In this course, you will occasionally work with peers in small Canvas Discussion forums. You will share images and/or articles about items related to lecture themes along with instructional text. Additionally, you will be required to comment on others' postings. Instructional texts should be in your own words and should be designed to teach your group about the item of your choice. Comments on others' postings should be polite and interested.
Online Presence
In your role as an online student, you are in charge of the following:
- Your coursework completion: make sure you complete all assignments on time as you would for courses in face-to-face settings.
- Personal accountability: it's important that you are present, responsible and ask questions. If you need help, try connecting with your peers, ask a classmate to become your study buddy, reach out to your TA, or contact the instructor.
- Timing: check the course's syllabus and schedule. Become familiar with how the To Do list Links to an external site. works in Canvas to help you stay organized.
