Topics in electronic systems design: ECAD (Schematic capture, PCB layout), standard building block circuits, best design practices and practical circuit solving/debugging principles. Examples: use of sensors and actuators; high-power amplifying and switching components; linear and switched-mode power supplies; linear and switched-mode amplifiers; interfacing electronic components with programmable microcontrollers; printed circuit board technology and design tools; laboratory exercises and design projects incorporating printed circuit technology.
