Attendance Policies
Below are sample policies. They may not fitting your course, so please change accordingly.
Your presence is important to the program! You are expected to attend all meetings unless you have made special arrangements to miss a summer session (communicated as much in advance as possible).
- It is required that you attend the practice and final research showcase sessions as well as your one-on-one with the Communication Consultant.
- If you will miss more than one summer lunch session, you will be expected to complete a makeup activity. Please contact the Co-Directors as early as possible so this activity can be arranged.
Payment & Hours Worked
Each student will receive a $6000 stipend, split evenly between the months of June and July.- You do not need to submit hours in Workday. It is assumed that you are working the equivalent of 40 hours/week during the period of payment.
- Please arrange the 40 hour/week workload with your Research Mentor. Reasonable flexibility is allowed (for example, if you will be out of town for a few days, you may make up those hours spread out across several different days).
What we need from you
- Work with your Research Mentor as described above to account for the hours you're being paid for.
- Pick up and deposit your checks each month (2 total) from Meredith Horrell in 1210 MBB.
- Order lunch on time and prepare for sessions as described in the Schedule & Assignments page.
- Communicate with us to let us know if you have any concerns, ideas, or unmet needs. Connect with each other to get the most out of this experience!
