Housing

You will be staying in the Frederiksen Court Apartments Links to an external site.

Interns will stay in shared apartments. You will either be in two bedroom shared apartments with two interns per room or four bedroom shared apartments with one intern per room. The Department of Residence will confirm the housing arrangements the week of May 19th.

  • We will do our best to work with the ISU Department of Residence to pair roommates based on the questionnaire that you filled out. A suggestion to block noise is to bring earplugs, earbuds/headphones, or noise-canceling headphones.

A campus map of Frederiksen Court can be found here Links to an external site..

The Frederiksen Court Office is open between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday during the summer. If you need assistance, a Community Advisor (CA) is on-call and available when the office is not open. The CA-on-Call can be reached at (515) 290-1652, or if calling from a campus phone, dial 8-290-1652. When the CA is not on-call, your calls will be forwarded to the Frederiksen Court Office. Campus phones are located on the outside of each apartment building.

The apartments are air-conditioned, carpeted, and furnished as follows:

  • Bedroom furniture includes a bed (lofted in 4-bedroom apartments), clothing drawers, desk, chair, file caddy, and wardrobe.  For safety reasons, do not change the current bedroom furniture set-up (for example, loft or de-loft beds).
  • Living room furniture includes a sofa, armchair, end table, coffee table, table lamp, and floor lamp.
  • Laundry and kitchen appliances include washer, dryer, stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and garbage disposal. The appliances in the kitchen are all of the standard size; the stove has four burners and an oven, and the refrigerator is 18 cubic feet with a freezer.
  • Telephone lines are not active in the apartments.
  • Exterior building telephones will be active for emergency and local calls; long-distance calls require a calling card.
  • Each apartment has basic and expanded basic cable (televisions are not supplied).
  • Apartments have wireless internet access.
  • Residents provide their own study lamps, bed linens (for 36” x 80” XL twin-sized mattress), mattress pad, pillows, blankets, bedspreads, towels, washcloths, wastebaskets, cleaning supplies, cooking/dining items, and ethernet cable (if desired).
  • Custodial service is not provided in the apartments.

Department staff will check in guests at the Frederiksen Court Office.

To check out properly, individuals must return the apartment to the condition it was in at check-in, remove all personal possessions, and personally return their keys and access card to the Frederiksen Court Office.
