- Submitting a text entry box, a website url, a media recording, or a file upload
Directions:
For this assignment, you will create a lesson, activity, or experience using the Ed Tech Tool you described in Assignment 1. You are welcome to describe your activity in words (300-500 words), as a video (<10 minutes overview), or in another multimodal or embodied format (i.e., dance, visual arts, kinetic sculpture, fashion, etc etc). The main thing is to design a lesson, activity, or experience that is engaging, meaningful, and accessible using the Ed Tech Tool. Please be sure to make connections to learning theories (and course readings)-- what kind of learning (Behaviorist, Cognitivist, Constructivist) is facilitated through this tool? How does this tool conceptualize learning, as concrete content to be acquired (i.e., as bounded knowledge) or as a space for participating in disciplinary activity (as a way to become a biologist or historian)?
Description:
The description portion of this assignment (written, video, dance, etc.) should explain the following:
- What will students do during this activity & how does it build disciplinary knowledge (i.e., is this a central part of learning history, art, biology, etc?)
- How might this tool provide supports for a range of learners during this lesson (i.e., differentiate instruction...or allow you to adapt to people who learn in different ways, at different paces, etc.)?
- What learning theory best aligns with your activity (behaviorism, cognitivism, or constructivism)?
- What is the purpose of the lesson & how does this tool do something that is/was impossible (or difficult) without this tool?
- Does this tool support rich, socially interactive learning that allows students to leverage their background in important ways?
- Does this tool facilitate civic or societal knowledge/participation/or engagement?
