Assignment #5
Telling a Digital Story with Infographics
Students will create an Equity Package (containing 1) an infographic that explains one key equity issue in educational technology (privacy, data use, an outdated conception of literacy, etc. and 2) a brief, written analysis of the issue at hand).
Infographic should include:
Clean visual design that includes images/icons that represent the Equity Issue
Eye-catching quote/text (short, powerful, "packs a punch") that illuminates Equity Issue
Insightful analysis about the consequences of this Issue (very brief, think 1-2 key sentences)
Written Analysis should include:
Clear explanation of the equity issue that includes at least 2 outside readings;
Analysis of how students are being affected by this inequity;
Proposal that includes 1 short-term, 1 medium-term, and 1 long term step to resolving this issue
Students in the past have used Canva but there are many possibilities. Infographic design should be clean, explanatory, powerful. Analysis should be based on research, should demonstrate the impact of this Equity Issue, and a few ways to address this issue. 300-400 words recommended.
