Edit Course Information:
- Do not change the Welcome, Name! This personalizes the page and inserts the name of a student user. You can change the text that follows the heading.
- To replace the course banner below, click on the image and hit the Delete button on your keyboard. Use the Image icon on the Rich Content Editor to upload an image DesignPLUS. A 10:3 ratio (1100px by 330px) is recommended. There are also additional images located in the course files. Finally, the Upload/Embed Image Tool provides access to royalty-free images.
- The "Start Here" and "Syllabus" course buttons help students navigate the course. Please don't change them.
- Provide a short course description from ISU Course Catalog.
- Consider using Canvas Studio to record and embed a short (1-2 minute) course overview video on the bottom of the page to welcome students, introduce yourself, and briefly describe the course. See example ofCourse Intro for Engl 393.

Introduction to Music Listening!
This course is a musical journey that expands your music listening experiences through greater awareness of differences in techniques of listening, performance media, and materials of the art. This course does not have any prerequisites and the ability to read or perform music is not required.
The reading and listening activities focus on the basic elements of music, including rhythm, melody, dynamics, timbre, texture, form, and style. You will learn how these elements are used in music of different cultures and time periods. As you walk through each lesson, you will also develop active listening skills. When you complete this course, you will have the basic skills to begin another musical journey for a richer and deeper enjoyment of music.

- Required Synchronous Meetings: one Orientation Meeting and four Concert Reflection Meetings.
